Lisa Rice Rudisill was a standout volleyball player for Shippensburg University from 1988-1991 and was a consistent and reliable force during her four years with the Lady Raiders.

She graduated as the school’s career leader in kills and digs and was one of the integral members of the 1990 squad under Mike Shatzer that started the season 20-4 and advanced to the finals of the PSAC Tournament.

Rice made immediate contributions to the team during her first two seasons, totaling 219 kills, 75 digs and 46 service aces during her freshman and sophomore campaigns. Over the course of her first two seasons, she also totaled 42 block solos and 51 block assists, including an impressive 33 block solos as a freshman in 1988.

She had her breakout season in 1990, when she led the team with 151 digs. She also tallied 252 kills and 36 service aces. The Lady Raiders would finish 24-6 that season under Shatzer.

Rice’s consistency carried over to her senior year when she recorded 275 kills, 43 service aces, and a then-school record 269 digs in a season. She was nominated to the First Team All-PSAC Eastern Division squad and also to the overall all-conference roster. Rice also became the first Shippensburg player to ever be named the Most Valuable Player of the PSAC.

For her career, Rice finished with 849 kills, 495 digs and 125 service aces while totaling 67 block solos and 90 block assists.
