Barbara Harper Gordon was a two-sport athlete at Shippensburg, lettering in field hockey and basketball. She led the field hockey team in scoring in 1964 and 1965, her junior and senior seasons.
The 1964 team compiled a record of four wins, two losses, and one tie, and Gordon scored 12 goals. The following season, while serving as co-captain, the team went 7-1-1 and she set a school single season scoring record with 17 goals. During her four years on the hockey team Shippensburg compiled a record of 20-6-2.
In the sport of basketball Gordon was a starter on the Raiderettes’ undefeated 1966 team. Shippensburg compiled a 10-0 record that year including a win over Penn State. In her four seasons on the varsity, Shippensburg had a record of 29-7.
Gordon grew up in Hatfield and became a resident of Honeoye Falls, New York.
