Lindsey Knupp, a four-year starter in field hockey, graduated as SU’s all-time school record holder for goals and assists. Her 56 career goals remains sixth all-time at Shippensburg, while her 34 assists rank second.
The two-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American and three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) performer exceled during a four-year stretch under head coach Bertie Landes in which the Raiders began an incredible run of success at both the conference and national level. SU won at least 15 games each season, posting a 66-19 record from 2001-04.
Knupp started all 85 games in her Raider career – totaling 146 points. Her 17 assists as a junior in 2003 remains a single-season school record, and she is one of seven players in school history to achieve at least three assists in a single game.
Knupp was perennially among the team leaders in both major scoring categories, leading the team in assists in each of her first three seasons. She led the team in goals as a freshman and ranked second on the team for her final three seasons. Her freshman season featured 12 goals and six assists in 20 games.
As a junior, Knupp scored 19 goals and achieved her single-season school record 17 assists for 55 points, totaling four game-winning goals. As a senior in 2004, Knupp scored 17 goals and had six assists, totaling 40 points in 22 games. Knupp was named an NFHCA All-American after each of her final two seasons, as the Raiders qualified for the NCAA Division II National Tournament for the first two times in history in 2003 and 2004.
After graduation, Knupp began a career in professional baseball as an associate with the Reading Phillies in 2005 before joining the Lehigh Valley IronPigs' front office in 2007. She recently completed her 13th year in minor league baseball and her tenth with the IronPigs, the AAA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Knupp is the Vice President of Marketing and Entertainment for the IronPigs, In November 2015, Knupp was selected as the recipient of the 39th Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year Award by Minor League Baseball. Under her direction, the IronPigs have developed and maintained the strongest promotional schedule in Minor League Baseball and have captured Ballpark Digest's prestigious "Promo of the Year" award for a series of successful recent promotions as well as GameOps.com's "Best Game Operations and Presentation" award.
The IronPigs' forward-thinking promotions have been highlighted in numerous national publications, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, ESPN and Sports Illustrated. Knupp oversees the Community Relations and Multimedia Design efforts of the IronPigs in addition to her responsibilities handling promotions and entertainment.
