Before his arrival in Shippensburg Glasgow was an All-State player at Northern Bed High School. He broke all the rushing records for Northern Bedford and the Mid-Penn Mountain League. He also set state records for most yards in a career and most in one game. His best were 414 yards in one game against Shade Central, 2,065 yards and 29 touchdowns in 1973 and 4,615 yards for his career.

Following his graduation from high school in 1974, Glasgow received a full scholarship at Syracuse University. He transferred to Shippensburg in 1975 and had to sit out the 1975 season because of NCAA rules.

In 1976 he led the team in rushing with 220 carries for 990 yards and 10 touchdowns. Shippensburg won the Pennsylvania Conference Western Division title that year and tied East Stroudsburg 14-14 in the state game. In 1977, though injured, he led the team in rushing with 771 yards on 201 carries. He scored 12 touchdowns to lead the team again.

Glasgow suffered more injuries in 1978 but still led the team in rushing with 164 carries for 521 yards and eight touchdowns. In the final game of the season against California (Pa) he rushed for a career high 163 yards. Shippensburg was co-champion of the western division in 1978 but did not play in the state game.

Glasgow set the school career rushing record with 2,282 yard and the career scoring record with 30 touchdowns and four extra points. His average of 76.1 yards per game was also a career rushing record. During his playing days Shippensburg won 21 games, lost only 9 and tied one for winning percentage of .691.

Glasgow was a co-captain in 1978, his senior year, and during his career earned All-Pennsylvania Conference first team honors and received honorable mention in the voting for All-American by the Associated Press in 1976 and 1977.

Following graduation Glasgow enrolled in graduate school at Shippensburg and served as an assistant football coach. He was on the sidelines in Ann Arbor, Michigan, when Shippensburg took part in a special University of Michigan band day promotion and defeated Slippery Rock 45-14 before 61,143 fans.

Glasgow joined the Navy In 1980 and went through Navy Aviation officer’s candidate school and later in his career attended the Navy fighter weapons school (popularly known as top gun). He appeared in the film “Top Gun”.
