The groups helps support Shriners Hospitals for Children, a network of 22 pediatric specialty hospitals, operated and maintained by the Shriners where children up to 18 years old can receive medical treatment.

Richards was recently honored by Shriners for his 15 years of volunteer service, running free clinics in Chambersburg for crippled children in Franklin County and surrounding areas.
