Kristi Miller Jordan was the only basketball player to have won the team’s MVP award four years in a row. In 1977 during her junior year, she set the school’s career record for rebounds per game with 10.1 and the single season record with 11.6 boards.
During the 1974-75 season Jordan was the number two scorer on the team with 107 points in 10 games. She scored 156 in 13 games her sophomore season, and as a junior she tallied 129 in 13 games. In her senior season she had 155 points in 16 games. Miller finished her career with 547 points.
A forward, Jordan was also the top rebounder on the team in two of the four seasons she played. She had 110 in her freshman season, 133 in her sophomore year, 151 as a junior, and 132 as a senior. In four years she grabbed 526 rebounds. Her point and rebound totals were school records at the time of her graduation.
During her four seasons at Shippensburg the women’s basketball team compiled a record of 38-14. The 1978 team was the first Shippensburg team to ever receive an invitation to compete in a post-season tournament. The Lady Raiders went 13-3 during the regular season and then played in the AIAW tournament. The 13 wins was a school record at the time.
In addition to her basketball exploits Jordan lettered twice in field hockey and once in lacrosse.
A native of Abbottstown, Jordan settled in Mechanicsburg and after becoming a marketing specialist with the Pennsylvania Medical Society took time off to raise her four children.
