Mark Maciejewski was one of the most intimidating defensive players in Red Raider football history and is one of just three players in program history to receive All-PSAC First Team honors in three consecutive seasons at the same position. He finished his tenure with a school-record 28 tackles for loss as a nose guard, a total that includes 23 sacks.

Maciejewski earned his All-PSAC Western Division First Team selections from 1990-92 and also earned Weekly Football Gazette and Associated Press Third Team All-America honors in 1991 and 1992. During his junior season, the Red Raiders went 10-3 and gained a berth in the NCAA Division II tournament.

In one standout series of downs against East Stroudsburg in the team’s 1991 regular season game Maciejewski made three consecutive tackles behind the line of scrimmage. He made two sacks sandwiched around a tackle for loss to drive the Warriors back 23 yards. He finished the game with three sacks and two other tackles for loss for a total of 32 yards lost.

He also holds the team single-game record for most yards lost on sacks with 23 on three sacks in the 1991 East Stroudsburg game and the career record with 179. His 74 yards in losses in a season on 7.5 sacks in 1992 is the second highest total in school history.

In addition to his sack totals he made 28 other tackles for loss during his career, including 16 in 1992. In total, Maciejewski made 51 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for a total of 249 yards lost. Both marks are school records, as is his 1992 single-season total of 115 yards on tackles for loss.

In total, Maciejewski made 216 tackles in 33 career games, including 79 solo stops, along with two interceptions and a blocked kick. His career total of 23 sacks is one shy of the school record.

Another highlight during his career was the return of an intercepted fumble 39 yards against Shepherd in 1992. That season he received the Vinton Rambo Award as the Outstanding Senior Lineman.

During his sophomore season in 1990, Maciejewski helped Shippensburg limit the opposition to a meager 93.1 yards per game rushing. He had a career-high eight sacks as a sophomore while totaling 64 tackles overall.

Maciejewski, a 1992 graduate of Shippensburg, is currently in his 12th year overall as an assistant football coach with Shippensburg. He and his wife Tricia currently live in Chambersburg and are the proud parents of their 2-year-old son, Brady.
