Doug Seidenstricker capped off a tremendous Raider football career as a senior in 1994 with Associated Press (AP) Little All-America First Team honors, making him at the time one of three football All-Americans in school history. A two-time All-PSAC safety, Seidenstricker graduated as one of the Top 10 tacklers in school history with 352 recorded from 1991-94.

In his standout senior season, Seidenstricker led the team with a career-high seven interceptions, which tied for the third-most in SU single-season history, and with a career-high 5.0 sacks. It is the only known occurrence in school history in which a player led the team in both interceptions and sacks in the same season. His career-high 126 tackles, including a career-high 80 solo tackles, ranked third on the team.  He was a force as a safety, totaling 10.0 tackles for loss (TFLs).

Seidenstricker is one of only a handful of players in school history to record 100 or more tackles in three consecutive seasons, achieving the feat as a sophomore, junior and senior. His junior season included 113 tackles – second-most among the Raiders in 1993 – and included 6.5 TFLs. As a sophomore he recorded 104 tackles and had three interceptions.

His 23 career pass breakups included nine each as a junior and senior. He also was credited with six fumble recoveries.

Seidenstricker’s love of football continued after his graduation, as he played professionally for several seasons. He played for the New England Seawolves and Norfolk Night Hawks in Arena Football from 1998-2000 and in Germany for the GFL Braunschweig Lions from 2001-05. He won a World Bowl title in 2003 and a German Bowl title in 2005. Seidenstricker worked as the secondary coach at Mansfield in 2005.

Seidenstricker currently serves as the general manager of Old Mill Brewpub in South Carolina, a position he has held for the last seven years. He has also formed an LLC called Rock Restoration, a small construction business that restores older homes in South Carolina.
