Michelle Borzok, an All-American outfielder with the softball team, led the team in batting average in 1991 and 1992 with averages of .444 and .379, respectively. Her .444 average is one of the highest in team history for women with 50 or more at bats in a season. She also ranks high in school annals with a 21 career stolen bases with 21.

Borzok came to Shippensburg in 1989 from Frackville where she was a standout player for Cardinal Brennan High School. In 1989, she helped the Lady Raiders compile a 20-11 record. The team improved their record to 27-9 in 1990.

In 1991 the Lady Raiders had a breakout year, finishing fourth in the PSAC with a 30-9-1 record. Borzok’s teammates voted her Most Valuable Player. She also earned first team All-PSAC Eastern Division and first team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II honors. She had 52 hits in 117 at-bats, scored 32 runs, and had five homers. She drove in 31 runs and had 10 stolen bases. Borzok led the team in hits, runs scored and homers. During that season she had a 12 game hitting streak in which she hit .558 with 20 RBI and 11 runs scored. The team went 10-2 during that stretch.

As a senior team captain in 1992, Borzok led the team to second place finishes in the PSAC and NCAA Division II East Region Tournaments. The Lady Raiders finished with a 33-12 record, the Shippensburg record for victories at that time.

Borzok led the team in batting with a .379 average and RBI with 33. She collected 53 hits in 140 at-bats. She was first team All-PSAC Eastern Division and first team All-ECAC again and also was voted second team All-America by the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA). At the time of her graduation, Borzok held the career record for runs scored with 97.

After graduation, Borzok pursued a career in education. She became an elementary school teacher at St. Stephen Regional School and was head softball coach at Marian High School for 10 years. Under her tutelage, Marian was a runner-up in 1999 and won four league championships. She later became head coach at North Schuylkill High School. In addition to softball, Borzok became active in power-lifting and set a Pennsylvania record for bench press.
