Chris Logan Orndorff is one of the most successful women’s tennis players in school history, having played for the Raiders from 1987-91. SU finished second in the PSAC Tournament in each of those four seasons, with Logan playing at four different singles positions and all three doubles positions during her career.

One of just three athletes in school history to compete in NCAA Tournament in singles play, Logan is tied with two other SU student-athletes for the school record for consecutive singles victories in dual meets, having won 23 straight matches in a stretch from 1987-89.

Logan’s 31 consecutive singles victories overall remains a school record. SU’s team appearances in the 1990 and 1991 NCAA Tournament – Logan’s junior and senior seasons – remain the only national championships berths in school history.  The 1990 team was the first team from the East to ever score a point at the national championships.

Overall, Logan ranks third in school history for career wins with 112.

Logan was a three-time PSAC champion, winning at No. 5 singles in 1987 and at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles in 1988. In addition to competing in singles at the 1991 NCAA Championships, Logan also competed in doubles with Karen Keffer at the 1990 NCAA Championships.

In her first two seasons with the Raiders, Logan posted a 29-1 record in singles play while going 24-6 in doubles. Logan won at least 10 singles matches every year, including a career-high 16 as a sophomore.

Logan graduated from Shippensburg with a degree in elementary education and also earned a Master’s degree in special education from Elon.

Logan and her college sweetheart, husband Bob Orndorff, reside in State College with their three children: Jessica, Addison and Zachary. Logan works with special needs children in early intervention for Strawberry Fields, an organization based in State College that works to enhance the lives of those with intellectual disabilities and mental illness.
