Jill Edwards Restino is the best offensive player in Shippensburg University volleyball history. She is the only Raider to ever be named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America team and finished up her historic career as the only player in school history to earn four All-PSAC First Team classifications.

Restino’s 2,062 kills are second all-time in PSAC history and 559 more kills than any other player in school history. She is the only Raider with 500 or more kills in a season, and she did it twice. In addition to her career record for kills, she holds the single-season record of 567 kills from 2011 and the single-match record of 35 kills in a September 2011 match against Seton Hill.

She was consistently one of the best players in the Atlantic Region. Restino finished as a three-time AVCA All-Atlantic Region First Team honoree (2011-13) and was a four-time Daktronics All-Region honoree (First Team in 2011, 2013; Second Team in 2010, 2012). She was named to the Daktronics All-America Third Team as a senior and Daktronics Regional Player of the Year in 2011.
Restino is one of just nine players in school history who are part of the 1,000 career kills/1,000 career digs club. Her 1,448 career digs rank ninth in school history. She produced at least 450 kills and 320 digs in all four of her seasons as a Raider.

While it was hard to top her first three seasons, Restino did make her fourth and final season her best. Her 563 kills were 67 more than any other player in the PSAC, and her 4.23 kills per set average ranked 12th in Division II. She also ranked 8th in Division II averaging 4.84 points per set.  She set single-season career bests in hitting percentage (.261), aces (50), digs (411), blocks (60) and assists (24).

That production resulted in being named the PSAC Eastern Division Player of the Year, becoming just the second Raider so honored and the first since 1991. Previously, she was recognized as PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Year.

In her four seasons as a Raider, Shippensburg went 90-59, qualifying for four PSAC Tournaments and the team’s second and third NCAA Tournament appearances in school history. In her senior season, Shippensburg went 29-10 and won its first NCAA Tournament match, sweeping UPJ.

Restino was also an outstanding student. She became the first SU volleyball player ever named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, earning First Team honors as a senior in 2013. She also became the first SU volleyball player ever selected to a PSAC Fall Top 10 squad. She was a three-time Academic All-District honoree who graduated magna cum laude with a degree in supply chain management.

After graduation, Restino returned home to her native Raleigh and she works as a Vice President of Operations with Relay Inc. Restino is involved in her church and many charitable organizations. She coached club volleyball for six years: three seasons with Revolution Volleyball Club in Chambersburg and three seasons with her former club, Triangle Volleyball Club in Raleigh.

She is married to her husband Chris, a former SU Football offensive lineman, and the couple are the proud parents of daughter, Hallie, and son, Grayson.
