SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team posted nine performances that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standard on Saturday in its first home dual meet of the season, as the Raiders hosted IUP inside Donald N. Miller Pool.
 
The Crimson Hawks won the dual meet, 163-91, but the Raiders posted multiple strong swims – including six Top-2 finishes. Senior Stefan Szilagyi was SU's only event winner of the day, claiming victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.51 seconds. Szilagyi also finished second in the 200-yard butterfly with a PSAC cut of 2:00.49.
 
Junior Shaun Smith had solid swims in the 50 (22.52) and 100-yard freestyle (49.68), meeting the league standard in both events. Senior Jake Dunnigan and sophomore Kristian Voulopos also each had two PSAC cuts – Dunnigan in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.32) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:11.47), and Voulopos in the 100-yard backstroke (56.35) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.15).
 
Freshman Shane Kaliszewski joined Szilagyi in meeting the PSAC qualifier in the 100-yard butterfly, swimming 55.08 seconds.
 
SU continues its dual-meet portion of the schedule on Friday when it travels to Fairmont State for a 5 p.m. evening dual meet with the Fighting Falcons.
