YORK, Pa. – The Shippensburg University bookended Thursday with new school records, as Josh Einolf broke a 35-year-old school record in the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle relay enhanced its mark to highlight an excellent day of competition at the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships being held at the Graham Aquatic Center.

The evening session began with Kevin Noldy, Robbie Ferlick, Connor Ludwig and Mason Koeth improving the school record in the 200-yard freestyle relay by four-tenths of a second, finishing third in 1:22.42.

It marked SU's first All-PSAC relay since the 2021 season.

The relay comprised three of the four men who already held the school record – with the only difference being Koeth replacing Nathan VanNatter on the anchor leg.

It was also not the only relay that made an impact for the Raiders. Ezekiel Eberly, Kiran George, Einolf and Ludwig completed the 400-yard medley relay in a fifth-place time of 3:25.63 that is the fastest by an SU quartet in more than two decades.

The medley relay featured an opening 100-yard backstroke split by Eberly that was timed at 51.53 seconds – a personal bet that puts fourth all-time on the SU Top 10 list for the event.

The morning session got off to a bang when Einolf delivered one of four Raider performances during prelims that now rank among the Top 9 100-yard butterfly swims in school history. The sterling swim of 49.06 seconds from Einolf marked a half-second personal best and moved him up the final spot onto the top of the SU record books.

Einolf's swim breaks the school record held by Steve Meissner, whose time of 49.15 seconds in 1991 set what at the time was an NCAA Division II national record and resulted in him winning the 1991 NCAA Division II National Championship.

In the evening finals, Einolf was only .13 seconds off his pace, and finished fifth with a time of 49.19 seconds. It was his second of three 100-yard butterfly swims on the day, as his unofficial split time in medley relay was 49.50 seconds.

Josh Wall swam 50.48 seconds to come within just .02 seconds of his PR - a performance that ranks him No. 4 all-time in school history. He came back at night to claim third in the consolation 'B' final, posting an 11th-place overall finish in 50.69 seconds.

A perfect example of just how fast modern swimming at both the PSAC and NCAA Division II level has gotten is the fact that Alex Kissinger and Joe Herman both delivered 100-yard butterfly performances that crack SU's all-time Top 10 in the event yet were not quite enough to qualify for evening finals.

Kissinger delivered a marvelous personal best, as he broke the 51-second mark for the first time in his career. His time of 50.84 seconds improved his PR by .28 seconds and ranks him as the No. 8 all-time performance in school history. He finished in 17th place, just one spot shy of qualifying for the 'B' final.

Herman's time of 51.17 seconds slots him just behind Kissinger on the school's all-time list and is the best effort of his collegiate career. It was just .25 seconds off his lifetime PR.

Mason Hockenberry notched a collegiate best of 52.57 seconds, while Carter Hawkes delivered a PR of 53.09 seconds.

Ludwig missed his PR in the 200 freestyle by just .23 seconds after swimming 1:45.18 in morning prelims.

Ian Deck recorded a personal best of 1:47.25 in the 200-yard freestyle, while Ethan Dismuke improved his collegiate best to 1:50.45.

Day 3 of the meet begins at 10 a.m. Friday and features a 5:30 p.m. finals session.
