2015-16 (Sophomore): Staked his claim as the top sprinter and backstroke swimmer on the team during his second season as a Raider…made it into finals for all four of his individual events at the PSAC Championships, placing fifth in the 200-yard backstroke, sixth in the 100-yard backstroke, 13th in the 50-yard freestyle and 16th in the 200-yard freestyle, reaching the finals of the latter event after winning a swim-off for the final qualifying position…had the odd distinction of tying another swimmer in either the prelims or finals in all of his individual events at the conference meet…also contributed to three scoring relays at the PSAC Championships…placed sixth with the 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relays and seventh with the 400-yard freestyle relay.
2014-15 (Freshman): Made an immediate impact as a scoring performer for the Raiders…won the consolation ‘B’ group final of the 200-yard backstroke at the PSAC Championships with a time that ranks sixth in school history…took 10th place in the 100-yard backstroke at the conference meet on a time that ranks seventh in school history…posted a 13th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at the conference meet…swam on the fourth-place 200 freestyle relay, the fifth-place 800-yard freestyle relay as well as the 400-yard medley relay at the conference meet…also competed in the 100-yard freestyle at the PSAC meet…served as the team’s pacesetter in both spring freestyle events and both backstroke events.
Hempfield High School: Was a two-time PIAA ‘AAA’ state qualifier in a total of three individual events for the Knights under coach Steve Beck…competed at the club level with Diplomat Swim Club for coach Gwyn Atkinson…was a ‘AAA’ state finalist as a senior in the 50 freestyle and in a relay…notched three wins in the 50 freestyle and two wins in the 100 freestyle at the All-American meet…won four league championships individually…plans to major in pre-dentistry…boasted a 3.727 grade-point average…posted PRs of 21.56 seconds in the 50 freestyle, 46.97 seconds in the 100 freestyle, 53.12 seconds in the 100 backstroke and 1:58.48 in the 200 backstroke.
About Voulopos: Full name is Kristian Paul Voulopos…is the son of Steve and Wendy Voulopos…majoring in biology, concentrating in pre-dentistry, while seeking a minor in biochemistry.
