SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team concluded a successful two-day tri-meet on Saturday, defeating Southern Connecticut State 211-120 but falling to West Chester, 231-95, in competition from Donald N. Miller Pool.
Shippensburg (1-2) had three individual Top 3 finishes and had a spirited competition with the Golden Rams in the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing just a half-second behind for second place. The quartet of sophomore

Eric Zimmerman began the morning by achieving their conference qualifiers in the 1,650-yard freestyle, posting respective times of 16:50 and 17:00.

Nick Bloom achieved a PSAC cut in the 200-yard backstroke on a time of 2:02.32, while Fryer and freshman
Joe Deemer surpassed the league standard in the 100-yard butterfly with respective times of 53.01 seconds and 54.76 seconds.
Bloom, Keck, Fryer and Deemer completed the 200-yard medley relay in 1:40.43.
Shippensburg returns to action in two weeks, traveling to California (Pa.) for an Oct. 27 meet at 5 p.m. in which they face Fairmont State.
