The Shippensburg University men's soccer team was held off the scoreboard Wednesday evening in a pivotal conference road clash at Millersville, falling 1-0 to the Marauders at the Pucillo Soccer Field.
Shippensburg (3-6-1, 1-4 PSAC) out-shot the home team, 15-10, and managed five corner kicks, but was held without a goal for just the second time in 10 matches this season.
The loss extended a stretch of rough luck for the Raiders, as all six of the team's losses this season have come by just one goal – including four straight conference matches.
Millersville (3-8-1, 2-3) scored the only goal of the match in the 21st minute, as Jaime Vazquez headed home a cross into the box from Zach Brier.
It was the only shot that got past sophomore
Evan Raimist, who made four saves in the contest.
Shippensburg will host Alderson Broaddus in a non-conference matchup at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from David See Field. The Raiders return to PSAC play Tuesday at home versus West Chester.
