Both men place 16th in respective events (Adighibe, 200; Chapman, long jump)

Sophomore Dru Adighibe and senior LeQuan Chapman represented the Shippensburg University men's indoor track & field team on Friday at the 2016 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Pittsburg State (Kan.) University.

Chapman, competing in his final collegiate long jump competition, finished 16th overall on a top mark of 22 feet, 9 ¾ inches (6.95 meters) that came on his first attempt. He also jumped 22 feet, 8 ½ inches (6.92 meters) and 22 feet, 9 ¼ inches (6.94 meters).

Friday marked the fourth consecutive NCAA indoor long jump performance for Chapman, who finishes as a two-time First Team All-American. Chapman placed eighth as a freshman at West Chester and seventh last season with the Raiders. As a sophomore, Chapman finished 13th overall.

Adighibe, meanwhile, made his NCAA Championships debut with a run in the 200 meters. Competing in the fifth and final heat, Adighibe ran 22.07 seconds to place 16th overall. The PSAC's 200-meter champion, Adighibe ran a collegiate personal best of 21.54 seconds in the conference finals to achieve his national qualifier and tie the SU school record of Matt Kujawski.

On Saturday, SU will be represented by senior Grant Smith in the shot put, Chapman in the triple jump, senior Jalen Ramsey in the high jump, and junior Kieran Sutton in the 3K.
