SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University's
Dave Osanitsch was honored Monday as the 2026 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region Men's Indoor Head Coach of the Year.
It marks the tenth Men's Regional Indoor Coach of the Year award for Osanitsch, who won previously in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2020, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2011 and 2006.
Overall, Osanitsch is now a 29-time Atlantic Region Coach of the Year spanning men's and women's indoor and outdoor track & field.
Shippensburg won its 15th straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) indoor title in 2026, scoring in 16-of-17 events to win the league championship meet by a 79-point margin. Of SU's 32 individual scoring performances, 13 were All-PSAC (Top 3) finishes. The Raiders won six individual events and the distance medley relay.
The Raiders also finished the season as the No. 1-ranked team in the Atlantic Region per the USTFCCCA's Track & Field Ratings Index (TFRI).
Osanitsch's coaching disciplines are widespread, but he provides specific instruction to the multis and high jumpers. At this year's conference championships, heptathletes
Tyler Rossi and
Noah Bankert placed second and seventh respectively with scores that rank among the Top 8 all-time in school history, while freshman high jumper
Jackson Sotosky placed fifth with a new collegiate best and became the first Raider in school history to score in the high jump and the long jump at the same indoor conference championship meet.
SU finished the season with 10 athletes combining for 14 USTFCCCA All-Region classifications. Two Raiders earned All-America Second Team honors at the NCAA National Championships, as sprinter
Gabriel Lewis placed 10th in the 60-meter dash and thrower
Gian Greggo finished 16th in the shot put.
As a part of USTFCCCA's 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Regional Awards, each of the eight regions – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – honored both gender's top track athletes and field athletes as well as the top men's and women's head coaches and assistant coaches.
Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches following the conclusion of the 2026 NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field Championships. Performances from both the NCAA Championships and the regular season were considered. Only those individuals from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
