Dave Osanitsch was named the 2026 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year on Monday afternoon as the Raiders swept the organization's major awards for the men's outdoor season.
Shippensburg tied for 18th place in the team standings at the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championships after sending its largest contingent to nationals in terms of number of athletes (eight) since 2015. SU finished the national meet with five First Team All-Americans (second place in the 4x100-meter relay, third place in the shot put) and three Second Team All-Americans (ninth and 15th place in the 100 meters, ninth place in the 1,500 meters).
The Raiders won the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championship by a 74-point margin, winning eight events (100 meters, 200 meters, 800 meters, 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters, 10,000 meters, 4x100-meter relay, shot put) and achieving place winners in 18-of-21 events.
Shippensburg's point total (211.5) marks the eighth time in league history that a team has scored 200 or more points at the PSAC Outdoor Championships – all of which have been achieved by the Raiders. SU has now won 32 conference titles in its history – most among league schools – and it is the 16th consecutive year that the Raiders have claimed a blue (first-place) or red (second-place) trophy.
Of particular prowess were the Shippensburg athletes on the track, who at this year's PSAC Championships accrued 145 points – a total higher than each of the other team scores in the competition. Of the seven track events in which it was victorious, SU amassed 125 points.
Shippensburg finished the 2025-26 outdoor season with four new conference records:
Gabriel Lewis in the 100 meters (10.03 seconds),
Ke'Aune Green in the 200 meters (20.89 seconds),
Tommy Crum Jr. in the 1,500 meters (3:43.93), and
Ni'male Greenwood, Lewis,
Lavar Jackson and Green in the 4x100-meter relay (39.61 seconds).
The award is the eighth of Osanitsch's career for men's outdoor track & field; he was previously honored for Atlantic Region success in 2006, 2015, 2019 and 2021-24.
Overall, it is the 29th USTFCCA Regional Coach of the Year of Osanitsch's illustrious career (accompanying nine men's indoor awards, six women's indoor awards and six women's outdoor awards.
