Shippensburg University wrestling alumnus Evan Ramos '18 is in Sofia, Bulgaria this week to compete in an Olympic qualifier.
 
Ramos will once again be representing Puerto Rico in competition and will be doing so at 97 kilograms (kg).
 
The event is the World OG Qualifier, sponsored by United World Wrestling (UWW). More information about the qualifier is linked to the right.

On Thursday, Ramos will compete at 10 a.m. local time (3 a.m. EST) in the 97kg qualification round. At 7 p.m. local time (12 p.m. EST) will be the Tokyo qualification round. 
 
Ramos is a two-time NCAA Division II All-American who posted a 98-17 career record with the Raiders. Ramos went on to earn a bronze medal representing Puerto Rico at the 2019 Pan-Am Championships and is a now an NCAA Division I assistant coach at the University of Buffalo.
