2026 Wrestling Nationals Preview

PREVIEW: Wrestling at the 2026 NCAA Division II Championships

Delp is SU’s first national qualifier since the 2022-23 season

3/12/2026 11:00:00 AM

Graduate Nick Delp will represent the Shippensburg University wrestling team this weekend at the 2026 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships being held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Delp is the first SU wrestler to qualify for the national championships since the 2022-23 season (Danny Scheib, Avery Shay). Prior to the recent dry spell, Shippensburg had a wrestler qualify for nationals in twenty straight seasons.

This is Delp's first appearance in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. The action will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, with a second session scheduled for 5 p.m. On Saturday, the third session begins at 10 a.m., with the championship finals set for 7 p.m.

Delp, ranked No. 9 nationally at 165 pounds, qualified by virtue of his runner-up finish at the NCAA Division II Super Region 1 Championships Feb. 28. His first match is a Friday morning preliminary round bout against Newberry wrestler Bo Perkins.

The top eight wrestlers in each weight class earn a spot on the podium and All-American status.

"Going into the tournament I'm just trying to stay calm and trust my ability like I have all season," Delp said. "For me making the national tournament was a very big accomplishment. I've fallen short a couple of times qualifying in previous years so it means a lot to be going out to Sioux Falls. It's also my last season so it definitely takes some pressure off going to the tournament."

Live results and brackets for each weight class will be provided by FloWrestling and are linked above. Live video of each mat will be provided by the NCAA and is also linked above.
