The Shippensburg volleyball team unable to find rhythm against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division opponent Millersville on Friday night, falling in straight sets to the Marauders. Set scores were 23-25, 16-25, and 24-26 at Pucillo Gymnasium.
 
Shippensburg (13-15, 6-7 PSAC East) was led by freshman Kat Negron with 11 kills, seven digs and a .280 hitting percentage. Junior Kaitlyn Townsend had a career-high seven kills.
 
Freshman setter Lily Letchworth had 27 assists, four aces and five kills. Defensively, redshirt-sophomore Alex Leitner and freshman Kelsie Baus led the Raiders with eight digs each.
 
Millersville (11-19, 5-8) had a match-high 19 kills from Lauren Lucas, who also served three aces. The Marauders had just eight attack errors compared to 18 for the Raiders. MU also out-blocked Shippensburg, 8-0. Both teams served nine aces.  

There is one match remaining in the regular season and the playoff picture has become increasingly complicated. A win tomorrow, and Shippensburg clinches the remaining playoff spot. There are numerous scenarios in play in the event that the Raiders end up in a tie with Bloomsburg, Millersville, or both – some working in SU's favor, and some not.
 
Shippensburg plays tomorrow at 1 p.m. at West Chester.
