RECAP: Tennis Completes its Weekend at Bloomsburg Invitational

SU has close matches at No. 4 and No. 5 singles

The Shippensburg University women's tennis team completed its season-opening weekend Sunday with the final set of matches at the Bloomsburg University Invitational held at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.
 
The invitational features players from Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg and Wilkes in addition to the Raiders. On Sunday, Shippensburg faced the Warriors in singles and also the Huskies and Warriors from doubles.
 
The closest matches for the Raiders came at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. At No. 5 singles, freshman Aubrey Carlin won a set and went deep into a tiebreaker, coming up just short in a 6-7, 6-3, 10-8 match with ESU's Charity McLeod. Freshman Kayla Tryanski won eight games at No. 4 singles against ESU's Amanda Jackson, falling 7-6, 6-2.
 
Senior Megan Moorhead, serving as SU's No. 2 singles player, won four games in her match against ESU's Aubri Stetina.
