Box Score 1 The Shippensburg University women's tennis team began an adventurous road trip Saturday by dropping a match at Messiah, 5-2, before traveling over to Lebanon Valley for a second match that was ultimately cancelled due to rain and inclement weather.

Shippensburg (1-2) got singles victories against Messiah from Jade Miller and Ava Kalist.

Miller claimed her No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-1, while Kalist won at No. 6 singles by an injury default in the third set – her scores were 6-2, 2-6, 4-3.

Corinne Markovich won nine games at No. 1 singles but fell 4-6, 5-7. Brinley Orris won six games at No. 5 singles.

The Raiders won at least three games in all three doubles matches but ultimately came up short in each flight. Taylor Maguire and Sarah Vessah won four games at No. 3 doubles.

SU made it to Annville and had begun doubles against Lebanon Valley, staking out an early lead against the Flying  Dutchmen. Unfortunately, rain necessitated the match to be halted, and it is not likely to be completed.

Shippensburg completed its fall competition schedule with its Saturday matches. The team's championship season will resume in February.
