The Shippensburg University women's track & field team had a solid Saturday to cap off its two-day weekend at the University of Richmond with three NCAA provisional-qualifying performances and double-digit conference qualifiers in competition at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
Redshirt-senior
Danielle Sciremammano posted a NCAA-provisional qualifier in the 100-meter hurdles of 14.18 seconds. In the field, she posted a long jump of 18 feet, 2 ¼ inches. Sciremammano also teamed up with freshman
Ali Wyland and seniors
Lindsay Sheehan and
Jill Bertino for a 4x100-meter relay time of 47.53 seconds.
Freshman
Rachel Bruno, Sheehan, Bertino and senior
Kiana Tucker put forth a strong 4x400-meter relay time of 3:55.64. Tucker was strong in the solo 400 meters, posting a time of 58.30 seconds. Bruno also notched a PSAC cut of 1:00.16.
Senior
Kali Hepner cleared a NCAA-provisional height of 12 feet, 1 ½ inches in the pole vault. Sophomore
Sarah Bourdon got over the bar at 11 feet, 9 ¾ inches. In the discus, redshirt-senior
Paige Shirk threw 140 feet, 1 inches.
Senior All-American
Crystal Hartman won the javelin with a stupendous season-opening throw of 143 feet, 9 inches for a NCAA provisional qualifier. Senior
Kelly Steffen threw 119 feet, 9 inches and freshman
Jackie Arthur equaled the league qualifying standard of 117 feet, 11 inches.
Shippensburg returns to action next weekend at the Colonial Relays (William & Mary) and the Millersville Metrics.
