SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team won 8-of-11 events Friday night to achieve a convincing dual meet victory over Clarion, 110-83, in competition from Donald N. Miller Pool inside Heiges Field House.
 
The Raiders got two individual event victories from both junior Jeff Beyer and freshman Matt Bochanski while compiling 13 performances on the night that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standard.
 
Beyer won the 500-yard freestyle (4:46.73) by 18 seconds and the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:55.17) by 38 seconds. Bochanski claimed victory in the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.84) and was a 12-second victor in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:08.31).
 
Freshman Vin Salvatore led a group of three Raiders who went 1-2-3 in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:02.29, while junior Nick Bloom won the 200-yard backstroke by more than 10 seconds with a time of 1:59.21.
 
In relays, it was Bloom, Bochanski, Salvatore and junior Adam Fox who paced the Raiders to a victory in the 200-yard medley relay (1:39.86), while the quartet of freshman Trevor Woolwine, sophomore Hunter Keck, freshman Andrew Hale and Beyer teamed up for a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay of 1:26.79.
 
Keck and Woolwine each posted PSAC cuts in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle. In the 50, Keck swam 22.03 seconds while Woolwine finished in 22.43 seconds. In the 100, Keck swam 48.21 seconds while Woolwine finished in 48.61 seconds. Other notable individual conference-qualifying swims included Hale (1:48.71) in the 200-yard freestyle, Bloom (2:01.78) in the 200-yard IM and freshman Dawson Mohl in the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.11).
