The Shippensburg University tennis team played well in doubles, but came up just short in singles Saturday, falling 5-4 overall to Shenandoah in a match that took place at Winchester Community College.
In the first match of the spring portion of their schedule, the Raiders took a 2-1 lead after winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

Gabbie Binder had to go to a tiebreaker to defeat Shenandoah's Amy Rapp and Kelsey Nicely. Cox and Binder won the tiebreaker 7-5 to win the match 9-8. Freshman

Kaylin Gallagher followed by winning in doubles, 8-1.
However, in singles, Shippensburg fell in the first three matches to fall behind 4-2. But at No. 4 singles, Cox came through with a 6-2, 6-0 win, which was followed by
Hannah Coath winning 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles to tie the match up at four wins apiece.
Shenandoah took the match by winning at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
The Raiders are next in action on March 12, when they travel to Greensburg, Pa. to take on Seton Hill.
