SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Senior
Cody Ezolt's grand slam in Game 1 Friday and senior
Jimmy Spanos' five RBIs in Game 2 lead the Shippensburg University baseball team to a sweep of Bloomsburg, 10-8 and 13-1 respectively, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader on a beautiful afternoon at Fairchild Field.

Shippensburg (21-19, 14-8 PSAC East) totaled 23 runs on 30 hits and one error while Bloomsburg (10-16, 9-13) scored nine runs on 16 hits and committed three errors. Friday marks the first SU sweep of Bloomsburg since March 18, 2011.

Junior
Austin Allison hit a combined 7-for-9 with a double, two RBIs and four runs scored. Senior
Jimmy Spanos went 5-for-8 with five RBIs, two runs and two doubles.

Freshman
Nick Spangler batted 5-for-6 with a double, one RBI and two runs while sophomore
Ryan McMillen hit 3-for-7 with two doubles and three runs.

McMillen is the first Raider in 10 years to have 17 doubles in a season; Chad Stecker hit 17 doubles during the 2005 campaign.

In Game 2, freshman
Gabe Mosser allowed one run on five hits and did not allow a walk while striking out seven in his five innings of work. He has won five consecutive starts.

Sophomore
Jake Kennedy hit a combined 3-for-6 with three runs scored and his 16th home run of the year.

In Game 1, the Raiders scored in the first inning on a single from Ezolt. The teams traded one run in the third inning and four runs apiece in the fourth. In the sixth inning, BU scored two runs to go up, 7-6. In the home half of the sixth, Allison led off with a single before Spanos doubled to left-center. Kennedy was intentionally walked to load the bases and then Ezolt unloaded on a pitch for a grand-slam home run to left field that secured the game for Shippensburg.

Sophomore
Josh Kutchey earned the win in the opener after allowing one run on three hits in 1.1 innings of relief.

In the nightcap, SU scored three runs in the first inning, two in the second and four in the third, building an early insurmountable lead.

Junior
Kyle McClintock pitched two scoreless innings of relief while striking out three.

Shippensburg travels to Bloomsburg on Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Danny Litwhiler Field.
