Emily Cox represented the Shippensburg University tennis team Sunday at the 2014 PSAC Individual Championships hosted by West Chester University. Due to inclement weather, only four singles matches were completed on Saturday.
Saintz became the first Raider tennis player to win a match at the PSAC Individual Championships since Hannah Lolley in 2010, defeating Bloomsburg's Lindsey Tennis in her opening-round matchup. She needed extra points to claim a 9-7 victory. In the second round, Saintz was defeated by IUP's Tanya Timko, the No. 1 seed, 6-1.
Cox was defeated in her opening-round matchup by IUP's Raquel Gonzalez, 8-0. Saintz and Cox paired up for doubles but were defeated by Millersville's Tori Davis and Kaylora Thompson, 6-1.
Shippensburg will have matches on three straight days beginning next weekend. SU will travel Friday to Hagerstown Community College for a 4:30 p.m. match before hosting Holy Family at noon Saturday and Georgian Court at 1 p.m. Sunday.
