SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's tennis team battled West Chester on a sunny but cold and windy Tuesday afternoon but could not stop the Golden Rams, falling 7-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at Robb Sports Complex.
Â
Shippensburg (5-10, 0-3 PSAC East) had
Corinne Markovich and
Jade Miller win four games at No. 1 doubles, but West Chester (7-4, 2-0) claimed the point with that victory plus 6-1 triumphs in the No. 2 and No. 3 flights.

Yasmin De Meyer had a terrific battle at No. 3 singles with Brigitte Gravelle. De Meyer went to a tiebreaker in the first set and extra points in the second set, but Gravelle earned the victory by scores of 7-6 (7-3) and 7-5.
Â
Ava Kalist won three games at No. 6 singles. All six Raiders won at least one singles game.
Â
Shippensburg is right back at it at 4 p.m. Thursday when it hosts Lock Haven for a re-scheduled match at Robb Sports Complex.
