Pat Kregeloh dominated Saturday afternoon's nightcap from both the mound and the dish, allowing just four hits in a complete-game victory while going 3-for-3 with a two-run homerun to lead the Shippensburg University baseball team to a doubleheader split at Bloomsburg from the Huskies' Litwhiler Field. The Raiders dropped the opener, 6-2, before taking Game 2 by a 4-1 margin.
The Raiders (19-14, 6-8 PSAC East) totaled 17 hits on the day, with junior center fielder
Michael Douglas contributing four hits, including a leadoff home run in Game 1 on the second pitch of the game. Senior
Simon Beloff went 2-for-3 in the nightcap, including a home run in the sixth inning.
Kregeloh reached base on seven of his eight plate appearances on the afternoon, including three walks – with one an intentional walk with runners on second and third in the seventh inning of Game 2 – two doubles and his two-run jack to right field in the third inning of the nightcap.
The right-hander struck out three and gave up one run in the 78-pitch victory to improve his season record to 5-3. Kregeloh did not allow a Bloomsburg (8-24, 1-13) runner past second base until the seventh inning.
The two teams will return to Fairchild Field tomorrow for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.

After Douglas's lead-off jack – his fourth round-tripper of the season – SU added its second and final run of the game in the second with an RBI single through the left side from sophomore second baseman

Tom Bush earned the start and lasted into Bloomsburg's four-run fifth inning, finishing the day yielding six runs on nine hits with three strikeouts. Junior
Austin Bartley earned the final two outs of the fifth, both on strikeouts. Freshman
Rich Michaud then threw a spotless sixth.
Game 2: Shippensburg 4, Bloomsburg 1
Kregeloh doubled to right-center to lead off the second before the bases became loaded with a full-count walk from senior catcher
Tyler Shover and a Beloff single to right field. Junior designated hitter
Kyle Hollingsworth then drove Kregeloh home two batters later with a sacrifice fly to left field.
SU pushed its lead to 3-0 in the third with Kregeloh's sixth home run of the season, scoring junior third baseman
Cal Hogan. Beloff added Shippensburg's final run in the sixth with his leadoff home run down the right field line on a 2-2 pitch.
