Biography

2013 (Junior): Put together one of the best individual seasons in school history as a standout starting pitcher and a slugging first baseman…named an ABCA Third Team All-American as an infielder…named a Daktronics Second Team All-American as a utility player…was one of 11 finalists for the inaugural Josh Willingham Award – an honor presented to Division II’s most valuable player…selected by three different publications as an All-Atlantic Region First Team performer: ABCA (infielder), NCBWA (utility player) and Daktronics (utility player)…named All-PSAC East First Team as a utility player…named to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team, becoming SU’s first Academic All-American since 1995…earned a PSAC Spring Top 10 award…named the Shippensburg University 2012-13 Male Student-Athlete of the Year…led the PSAC in home runs (nine) and RBIs (60)…RBI total was one shy of tying the school single-season record…batted .355 and led the Raiders in hits (66), home runs, RBIs, total bases (110), slugging (.591), sacrifice flies (6), pitching wins (9, third-most in the PSAC), ERA among starters (3.47), strikeouts (68) and innings pitched (93.1, third-most in the PSAC)…scored 40 runs and recorded 15 doubles and posted an on-base percentage of .411…went 9-5 on the bump in 16 appearances (13 starts), holding opponents to a .222 batting average…boasted a .987 fielding percentage…threw five complete games…posted 21 multiple-hit games and 19 games with multiple RBIs…batted cleanup in all but four games…earned his ninth pitching victory on the final day of the Atlantic Region Tournament with a Game 1 win over Seton Hill (throwing 124 pitches and seven innings despite working on two days rest) and hit the deciding three-run homer in Game 2 that helped SU reach the national finals…in opening game of the national finals, gave up just one run and two hits in a 7.2-inning effort against Franklin Pierce and did not allow a runner to reach second base until the seventh inning and retired 14 consecutive batters during one stretch of the game…finished the season on a 16-game hitting streak…hit two home runs and totaled five RBIs at Catawba on March 19…went nine innings and struck out seven in a win against Winston-Salem State on Feb. 24…struck out a career-high eight batters vs. Concord and at Millersville…named the NCBWA Division II Atlantic Region Hitter of the Week on both Feb. 26 and May 7…was twice named the PSAC East Hitter of the Week (on March 4 and May 6) and was named the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week on April 15.

2012 (Sophomore): Continued his stellar play at the plate while also debuting as a pitcher in his second season with the club…again earned All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team accolades…one of the premiere utility players in the conference, playing as a corner infielder or as a starting pitcher…started 35 times at first base and nine times at third…batted .286 and finished fourth on the team with 42 hits…tied for second on the team with four home runs while ripping seven doubles…tied for fourth on the team with 27 RBIs…had 13 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games…fielded at a .987 clip…posted a 4-3 record and a 3.00 ERA…started eight games and appeared in two others in relief…third on the team with 51.0 innings on the mound…struck out 37 batters and gave up a .255 batting average…started the season 3-1…earned wins at Concord, at Bloomsburg, at East Stroudsburg and against West Chester…contributed four RBIs vs. Bloomsburg and three against Lock Haven…struck out seven against Kutztown…pitched complete games against Gannon and at Mansfield.

2011 (Freshman): Emerged as one of the team’s leading hitters in his debut season…earned All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team honors for his play…primarily manned the hot corner…became a mainstay in the cleanup spot in the batting order…tied for the team lead with three home runs…ranked third on the team in RBIs with 26…posted a .411 on-base percentage and a .426 slugging percentage…totaled 33 runs…slugged his first collegiate home run against Division I Bucknell…ripped round trippers against Millersville and East Stroudsburg…tallied 14 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games…went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs against regional power Concord…that performance began a five-game stretch that included a 9-for-18 stretch at the plate with eight runs scored…achieved hits in nine of the final 12 games of the season…played over the summer the Lehigh Valley Katz of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.

Pleasant Valley High School: Earned four varsity letters with the Bears under head coach Karl Rentzheimer…slugged a school-record 21 home runs in his career…compiled a 1.91 career ERA to complement a 17-3 record…hit .420 as a senior…pegged all four years as an all-conference selection…named the MVP of his conference as a senior…notched First Team All-State honors as a senior pitcher and as a junior third baseman…set single-season school records in runs scored (32), ERA (0.41) and home runs (nine)…played in the East-West All-Star Game…twice honored as the Times News Player of the Year…received an All-Area selection as a sophomore…played legion ball with The Birches under coach Butch Foust…also played basketball.

Personal: Full name is Patrick James Kregeloh…is the son of James and Mary Kregeloh…majoring in exercise science…has a sister, Nicole, who plays softball for Shippensburg.
