SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University baseball's
Ty Sherman was recognized Thursday afternoon as a recipient of a 2025-26 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Spring Top 10 Award.

To be a candidate for the prestigious PSAC Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials. A total of five men and five women are selected as award winners after each of the three competitive seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring).

Sherman is a junior outfielder and biology major (health professional concentration) who has maintained a 4.0 GPA. He is a first-time PSAC Top 10 honoree and the first SU baseball player to be named to the Spring Top 10 list since Jack Goertzen in 2019. He is joined on the Spring Top 10 list by Shippensburg men's track & field senior Garrett Quinan.

Sherman started 42 games in left field for the Raiders in 2026. He was an All-PSAC East First Team honoree and an All-Atlantic Region selection by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings (First Team) and Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) (Second Team) after posting a .405 batting average (fourth best in the conference) with six home runs, 46 RBIs, 18 extra base hits, 34 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

He totaled 16 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI games over the course of the spring and hit .406 with five home runs and 26 RBIs against PSAC East competition.

Sherman helped lead the Raiders to a 29-19 regular season record and a PSAC Tournament berth. He homered and tripled in the team's lone PSAC Tournament game.

Sherman is a two-time Academic All-District® honoree and a two-time PSAC Scholar Athlete.
This year's male Spring Top 10 honorees span the sports of baseball (Sherman, Seton Hill's Brady McGuire), track & field (Quinan, Slippery Rock's Seaton Wozniak) and golf (Gannon's Rasmus Seppanen).

Shippensburg has totaled 86 all-time PSAC Top 10 awards – second only to Slippery Rock (96) for the most among conference schools.
