SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team had four of its players named Tuesday to the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-District ® Team, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
Junior
Conner Barto is a finance and business management (international business) dual major with a 3.691 GPA through the accumulation of 105 credits.
On the diamond, Barto emerged as the Raiders No. 1 starter and workhorse in 2026, tying for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) lead with nine regular season wins. He registered a 4.39 ERA and 68 strikeouts in a team-high 69.2 innings pitched.
Barto lasted five-or-more innings in 11 of his 13 appearances and held the opposition to three-or-fewer runs nine times.
Sophomore
Thomas Cano-Piszel is an accounting and finance dual major with a 3.905 GPA through 60 credits.
Cano-Piszel was an All-PSAC First Team and All-Atlantic Region selection following a breakout season in the batter's box. His .415 batting average ranked third-best in the PSAC and eighth all-time in single-season program history.
The SU first baseman finished tied for fourth in the league with 11 regular season home runs. He recorded two hitting streaks of 14 or more games and overall registered a hit in 39 of 43 games played.
Redshirt-sophomore
Brady Harbach is a business management major with a 3.58 GPA through 90 credits. Harbach contributed a .347 batting average, a .453 on-base percentage and 10 doubles while starting 38 games at third base (43 starts overall) for SU this spring.
Junior
Ty Sherman is a biology major (health professional concentration) with minors in psychology and exercise science. He has a perfect 4.0 GPA through the completion of 113 credits.
Sherman was an All-PSAC First Team and All-Atlantic Region as the Raiders' starting leftfielder in 2026 (43 games played). He ranked fourth in the PSAC with a .405 batting average while driving in 46 runs (second best on the team); he also contributed six homers.
It is the second Academic All-District ® honor for Sherman, who was also recognized last season. It is the first Academic All-District ® recognition for Barto, Cano-Piszel and Harbach.
The Academic All-District ® Team is coordinated by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Per CSC, eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
