SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's swimming team completed its final home meet of the regular season Friday afternoon with competition against Edinboro at Donald N. Miller Pool. The Fighting Scots claimed the dual meet, 107.5 – 92.5.
 
Olivia Carver was the lone winner of the day for the Raiders, as she opened up the individual events with a first-place time of 11:11.31 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Carver was later the runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle, swimming 5:34.46.
 
Bria Burkholder delivered a solid swim in the 100-yard butterfly of 1:02.01 that resulted in second place. Michelle Kubiak was a second-place finisher in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:20.07.
 
Hannah Hudson was the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.49 that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships qualifying standard in the event.
 
The Raiders finished second in both bookend relays. Hudson, Charlee Shaw, Burkholder and Ella Nick teamed up for a time of 1:54.14 in the 200-yard medley relay while Nick, Carver, Kubiak and Emma Gerlinski (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) completed the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:42.90.
 
Before the meet, Shippensburg honored its lone four-year senior, Jenna Ober, as a part of Senior Day ceremonies. Ober, the granddaughter of the late Donald N. Miller, was accompanied by her parents and also her grandmother Linda.
 
SU also recognized four swimmers who were in attendance and will be graduating at season's end. Carol Fabian and Olivia Sitkowski will be completing their coursework in three years and heading on to graduate school, while Alyssa Brown and Hudson are transfers completing their eligibility with the Raiders.
 
Shippensburg's final competition of the regular season will be an invitational meet at Navy on Saturday, Jan. 31.
