Biography
2024-25 (Freshman): Set a trio of new personal records during her debut season…posted her fastest career time in the 50-yard freestyle (26.92) at the Gettysburg Invitational…achieved a new person best in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.31) at the Bucknell Winter Invite…swam a new PR in the 200-yard backstroke (2:22.79) at the F&M Invitational.
Waynesboro Area Senior High School: Totaled four varsity letters for the Indians under coaches Sharon McIlquham and Sarah Stains…competed at the club level for Waynesboro Waves under coach Sarah Stains…helped high school team to an undefeated record and back-to-back Mid Penn Colonial Division titles…part of 200 free relay squad that placed fourth at Mid Penns and sixth at districts, and 400 free relay squad that won a fifth-place conference medal…a Mid Penn qualifier in the 100 back and 200 free…honor roll student…maintained a 4.0 GPA…graduated magna cum laude…also competed in volleyball and track & field.
About Stoops: Full name is Madelyn Jayne Stoops…is the daughter of Trayer and Erin Stoops…has a brother, Wesley...majoring in mid-level education with a science concentration.
