The Shippensburg University women's swimming team concluded a busy weekend Saturday with two more timed finals sessions at the annual Gettysburg Invitational.
 
The top individual finishers on the day were Olivia Carver and Michelle Kubiak, who placed third and fourth respectively in the morning session's 200-yard freestyle with times of 1:57.18 and 1:58.96. Carver also took seventh in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.49) while Kubiak placed ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:33.70) and had an exhibition swim in the 100-yard freestyle of 54.91 seconds.
 
Those performances were five of Shippensburg's 13 individual efforts on the day that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships qualifying standards.
 
Bria Burkholder, Izzy Ketterer and Zoë Midura placed among the Top 12 in the 100-yard butterfly. Burkholder led the way in 1:00.13, while Ketterer touched the wall in 1:00.52 and Midura was .05 seconds behind.
 
Ann Secord, Hannah Hudson and Midura (in an exhibition swim) notched PSAC cuts in the 100-yard backstroke. Secord and Hudson finished consecutively with respective times of 1:00.86 and 1:01.39; Midura swam 1:02.30.
 
Midura and Secord joined Kubiak in the Top 10 of the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 54.70 seconds and 55.41 seconds respectively.
 
Kaitlyn Tannenhaus paced the Raiders in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.55 that was just .36 seconds off the PSAC qualifying standard.
 
During the morning session, SU had two 200-yard medley relays finish within .06 seconds of each other. Hudson, Charlee Shaw, Ketterer and Carver swam 1:51.33, while Secord, Paige Bensinger, Midura and Elyse Arnold swam 1:51.39.
 
Midura, Secord, Kubiak and Carver had Shippensburg's top time in the 400-yard freestyle relay to end the meet, placing fifth in 3:39.95.
 
Shippensburg will break for final exams and the holidays. Its next meet will be Senior Day on Friday, Jan. 9 – a home meet against Edinboro at Donald N. Miller Pool.
