The Shippensburg University women's tennis team rebounded on Saturday with a 7-0 win at East Stroudsburg to pick up its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division victory of the season in action at Wolbers Courts.

Shippensburg (3-11, 1-1 PSAC East) set the tone by winning all three doubles flights to take a 1-0 lead in the match over East Stroudsburg (1-6, 0-1).

SU quickly took a 2-0 lead when junior
Kendall Winters won love-love for her first victory of the season at No. 3 singles and her third overall triumph of the season in singles.

Brooklynn Rupert picked up her first victory at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Alessia Bianchini.

Shippensburg's victory was clinched with a win at No. 1 singles. Sophomore
Corinne Markovich aggravated a lingering injury late in her match, as her 5-2 lead in the second set was erased and led to a tiebreaker. Markovich rallied, and battled, and to claim the tiebreaker to win 6-2, 7-6 and achieve the straight-set victory – her third of the season at No. 1 singles.

Rounding out the Raider winners were freshman
Rachel Gallagher, freshman
Brinley Orris and senior
Brighid Cantwell.

Gallagher notched a 6-0, 6-4 win, running her record at No. 4 singles on the season to 3-6. Orris worked hard en route to a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles – her third win at the flight.

Cantwell won 6-1, 6-0, bringing her overall record on the season to 5-4 – including 5-1 at No. 6 singles.
