The Shippensburg University women's tennis team capped off a stretch of five matches in four days Thursday with a twinbill on a hot day in Florida, falling 7-0 in the morning to St. Catherine and 7-0 at night to UT Tyler.
 
Shippensburg (2-9) put forth a solid singles effort against St. Catherine (6-2) but could not get much going at night against UT Tyler (2-10).
 
In the morning match against the Wildcats, juniors Brooklynn Rupert and Kendall Winters had competitive battles at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Rupert won seven games in her match, while Winters won the second set of her match 7-6 after a tough 7-5 opening-set loss.
 
In the evening match against the Patriots, SU won just four singles games overall.
 
Shippensburg's next match will be in nine days when it hosts Pitt-Greensburg at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23.
