The Shippensburg University baseball team came up short in a twinbill at Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday, falling to the Bears by scores of 9-4 in a nine-inning game and 16-2 in a seven-inning game in North Carolina.

Shippensburg (0-8) could not overcome the high-powered offense of Lenoir-Rhyne (11-1), who hit three home runs in the opener and six doubles in the nightcap. Junior
Lake Lloyd (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) hit a home run in both games of the doubleheader for the Raiders.

The Raiders will face Lenoir-Rhyne again tomorrow to close out the three-game series.

JuJu Cason went 2-for-4 at the plate with a walk and a double down the left-field line in the ninth inning. Junior
Justin Darden hit a pinch-hit two-home run in the seventh inning, and Lloyd homered in the eighth inning – a solo shot.

Lenior-Rhyne hit a pair of homers in the first inning to take a lead it would not relinquish. David Bell hit a three-run home run with two outs in the sixth inning. Anthony Porrino had two hits, two runs scored and a two-run home run. Wade Cuda had three hits, one walk, two runs scored and a solo home run.

SU's runs came on an RBI-groundout by Darden in the first inning and a solo homer by Lloyd in the second inning. Freshman
