The Shippensburg University baseball team concluded its weekend Saturday with an 18-5 loss at Lenoir-Rhyne.

Shippensburg (0-9) fell victim to six home runs and five doubles from the bats of Lenoir-Rhyne (12-1). The Raiders had a four-run fourth inning to bring its deficit at the time to 7-3.

Matt Shilling (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon hit a two-run home run to left center field in the fourth inning. Sophomore
Jafari Williams hit a two-run single to right field in the fourth inning.

Andrew Chronister was 2-for-4 with one run scored, a walk, and an RBI-single up the middle in the fifth inning. Freshman

Justin Darden went 1-for-2 at the plate. He drew two walks, scored a run and hit a double down the left-field line in the sixth inning.

Gabe Stotler went the first 3.1 innings on the mound with four strikeouts. Fellow sophomore
Ethan Miller pitched 2.1 innings in relief and struck out two. Junior
Noah Nabholz threw 2.1 innings in relief with six strikeouts.

Lenoir Rhyne's Anthony Porrino went 2-for-4 with six RBIs, including two-run home run in the second inning and a three-run home run in the fifth. Nick Clarno went 2-for-4 with six RBIs; he hit a two-run home run in the third inning and hit a grand slam in the fourth inning.

Austin Edwards went four innings with six strikeouts and gave up four earned runs. Five pitchers worked in relief, combining for zero earned runs and 11 strikeouts.

Shippensburg will have a home-and-home series next weekend against Goldey-Beacom, beginning Saturday in Delaware.
