The Shippensburg University softball team scored 23 runs on 28 hits Sunday, posting a doubleheader sweep at Glenville State by scores of 10-6 and 13-0 in competition from the Sue Morris Sports Complex.
Shippensburg (7-5) endured a three-hour marathon Game 1 with Glenville State (4-6), with the two teams combining for 24 hits and 21 runners left on base in the opener. SU got 17 hits from its offense and Raider pitchers posted 16 strikeouts in Game 1, but the Pioneers did manage three home runs.
Game 2 was 1-0 through five innings before the Raiders scored five runs in the sixth and seven in the seventh to turn a close game into a rout.

Kayla Bonawitz caught fire at the plate, finishing the day 6-for-8 with a double, triple, two RBIs, stolen base and four runs scored. Freshman
Hannah Marsteller continued her run-producing ways with three doubles, a sacrifice fly, six RBIs and three runs scored.

Sydney Reffner each totaled four hits on the day. Klee was 4-for-7 with a double, walk, sacrifice fly and three RBIs, while Reffner slugged her first collegiate homer – a three-run shot – to highlight a four-RBI day.
Sophomore
Courtney Coy reached base five times, going 3-for-7 with a double, RBI and two walks. Coy is now hitting .459 this season through the first 12 games. Freshman
Lexi Corra had two RBIs in each game, including a two-run double in Game 2.

Tressa Kagarise and senior
Taryn Wilson each got a win in the circle. Kagarise started both games; she threw six innings and finished with 13 strikeouts. Wilson threw eight innings and had 15 strikeouts – she 5.2 shutout innings of relief to achieve the Game 2 win.
Of the 42 outs made by Glenville on the day – 27 came via strikeout. SU finished the day with 28 strikeouts, but one of those batters reached on an error.
