The Shippensburg University softball team endured a pair of one-run setbacks on Wednesday, falling by scores of 5-4 and 3-2 at Wilmington (Del.) in games played at Asbury Field.
Shippensburg (7-7) fell to 0-3 this season in one-run games. The Raiders rallied to tie Game 1, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning after being held without a hit through their first trips to the plate. SU held a 2-1 lead in Game 2 before a late comeback by the Wildcats.
Senior
Taryn Wilson and freshman
Tressa Kagarise earned the starts in the circle for the Raiders, and both threw complete games. Wilson allowed four earned runs on eight hits in Game 1, striking out nine and walking five. Kagarise allowed two earned runs on four hits in Game 2, striking out five and walking one.
Freshman

Hannah Johnson hit a two-run triple. Freshman
Grace Palmieri hit an RBI-double in Game 2.
After being held without a hit in Game 1, sophomore
Courtney Coy was 3-for-3 with two doubles in Game 2. Johnson also doubled in Game 2.
Wilmington (9-4) won both games in its final at-bat, hitting a walk-off single in Game 1 and receiving a pinch-hit, two-run home run to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning of Game 2. The Wildcats stole five bases on the day.
