SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team will host a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) quarterfinal for the first time in three years on Tuesday night, as the No. 2-seeded Raiders will face No. 7 seed Millersville at 7 p.m. from Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (24-6), the PSAC Central Division champion, is in the PSAC Tournament for the 12th consecutive year and for the 13th time in 15 seasons under head coach Leanne Piscotty. The Raiders finished the 2018 regular season ranked second in the PSAC in assists (12.9 per set), kills (13.6 per set) and opponent hitting percentage (.128) while ranking third in blocks (2.1 per set).

Millersville (16-11), the PSAC Southeast Division champion, is in the PSAC Tournament for the first time since 2013, when the Marauders traveled to SU and lost to the Raiders in the conference quarterfinals. This season, MU was 13-1 at home and 3-10 on the road or at a neutral site.

The two teams met this season Oct. 6 at Shippensburg, with the Raiders claiming a 3-0 victory by scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-16. Both teams hit above .200 in the match. SU hit .328, slamming 50 kills to just nine errors.

This season, both Millersville and Shippensburg tied for third in the PSAC with a .214 team hitting percentage. Both teams also have identical averages in aces per set (1.7).

The Raiders have lost in the PSAC Quarterfinals in each of the last two seasons, falling 3-0 last season at Pitt-Johnstown (20-25, 19-25, 25-27) and 3-1 in 2016 at California (Pa.) (21-25, 21-25, 25-15, 21-25). SU's last victory in the conference tournament was its 2015 PSAC Championship over Clarion.

Tuesday's match is the first at home for the Raiders in the PSAC Tournament since a 3-2 victory over West Chester in the 2015 quarterfinals (19-25, 25-16, 25-16, 20-25, 15-6).
