SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's tennis team dropped a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) divisional crossover matches on a warm Saturday afternoon, falling 9-0 to both Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock from the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
Shippensburg had a tough go of it against the Lakers, whose lineup included PSAC Individual Championships finalists Saioa Gomez de Segura and Kayla Frost along with semifinalist Adrianna Jeffress. Sophomore
Catherine Miller won a game at No. 1 singles against Gomez de Segura.
Against Slippery Rock, Miller also won a game at No. 1 singles against Lacey Cohen. Junior
Kaylin Gallagher won a game at No. 3 singles. Miller and sophomore
Madeline Carson combined to win a game at No. 1 doubles.
Saturday's matches conclude Shippensburg's fall schedule. The Raiders will resume competition with their spring season in early March.
