The Shippensburg University men's swimming team begins its 2016-17 season this weekend by traveling to Southern Connecticut State for a tri-meet with the Owls and with West Chester. The two-day meet begins Friday night and continues Saturday morning.
SU is under the direction of 18th-year head coach
Tim Verge, who is in his 19th year overall at the university. The Raiders are looking to continue their improvement after sixth-place finishes in each of the last two seasons.
For 2016-17, Shippensburg returns 10 swimmers -- including seniors
Tyler Clisham,
Mike Gyurisin,
Chandler Johnson and
Shaun Smith. The team also boasts six freshmen looking to make an immediate impact.
