SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University lacrosse team honored its two seniors before Saturday's home finale against Edinboro and capped off the day in style, winning its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game of the season with a 13-10 victory over the Fighting Scots from a sunny Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (4-10, 1-9 PSAC) held a 7-6 halftime lead but fell behind early in the second half, as Edinboro (6-9, 1-9) grabbed a 9-8 advantage with 21:40 to play. The Raiders would score five of the final six goals of the game, however, holding the Fighting Scots scoreless over the last 16:45 of play to secure the victory.

SU was dominant on draws in the contest, posting a 20-5 advantage in draw controls for the game. Junior
Max Barkley grabbed a season-high 11 draw controls, the most by an SU player since she set the single-game record of 17 draw controls in last season's home finale against Millersville. Junior

Madi Newman had an excellent game with a team-high four goals, matching her career high. Newman scored three times on free-position attempts, collected two draw controls of her own, and had three groundballs in the game. Â Â Â

Kyra Shank each caged two goals, as Harclerode's ledger also included four groundballs, an assist and a draw control. Barkley, sophomore

Morgan Stone each had one goal and two groundballs.

Seniors
Ally Frymoyer and
Tanisha Joseph were honored before their final home game. Joseph was unable to play Saturday due to injury, while Frymoyer made her 65th career start in goal for the Raiders. She has been the starting goalkeeper for every SU contest since her arrival at the beginning of the 2013 season.

Frymoyer made three saves in each half on Saturday for the win. Her six saves bring her career total to 555 in more than 3,600 minutes of lacrosse, including at least 100 saves in all four of her seasons as a Raider.

Shippensburg has two road matches remaining in its season, with the first coming at 1 p.m. next Saturday at Slippery Rock.
