The Shippensburg University baseball team scored double-digit runs for a second consecutive game Wednesday as it earned a road victory at Wilmington (Del.), 10-5, in New Castle, Del. at Wilson Field.

Shippensburg (7-10) is averaging more than 10 runs per game across its past four contests as the Raiders pounded out 15 hits on Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders trailed 2-1 entering the fourth inning when they batted around, scoring five runs on six hits.

Freshman
Evan Moore started the scoring in the fourth by recording his first career hit and RBI on a single to center field that scored sophomore
Nick Spangler, who tripled to lead off the inning.

Grant Hoover doubled home two runs while senior
Austin Allison hit an RBI double and junior
Ryan McMillen hit an RBI single.

The Raiders had six different pitchers throw on Wednesday as they combined to scatter 13 hits and allow just four earned runs. Sophomore
Gabe Mosser started and allowed only an unearned run in two innings. Wilmington was able to score three runs off senior
Seth LeFever in his two frames to cut the SU lead to 6-4 through four innings.

Zack Sims, who blanked Wilmington in the fifth and sixth innings while allowing just a single. Senior

Josh Kutchey each pitched an inning to finish things off for the Raiders.

Wilmington (2-11) was able to cut the Raiders' lead to 6-5 with a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but SU responded with four runs in the top of the eighth to pull away.

Mike Marcinko tripled in a run while Hoover added another RBI with a single to left. Hoover finished 3-for-6 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Pinch hitters, sophomore
Dustin LaBonte and freshman
Jack Goertzen, both drove in a run as LaBonte hit a sacrifice fly and Goertzen drew a bases loaded walk.

Allison continued his fine start to the season, going 3-for-6 with a run scored. Spangler and Marcinko both had two hits and a run scored. Marcinko, sophomore
Dalton Hoiles and freshman
Cash Gladfelter all stole a base for SU. The Raiders are 27-for-31 stealing bases this season.

The 15 hits were a season high for SU as the Raiders have recorded at least nine hits in each of the last seven games, including 10 or more in five of the last seven contests.

SU begins PSAC East play this weekend with a doubleheader Friday at West Chester before the Rams come to SU on Saturday. Friday's twinbill will begin at 1 p.m.
