2016 (Sophomore): Earned All-PSAC East Second Team honors as he became SU’s most consistent hitter in second season, starting all 52 games and leading SU with a .361 batting average…had a hit in 38 of the Raiders’ 52 games…finished with 65 hits, second-most on the team…hit seven doubles, three triples and two home runs…struck out only 20 times in 180 at-bats…posted a .403 on-base percentage and a .467 slugging percentage…led SU with 20 multi-hit games, including a team-high seven three-hit games…had six consecutive multi-hit games from March 26 to April 5…posted season-long 10-game hitting streak over final 10 regular season games…hit a triple and a home run in win over U. of the Sciences on April 19…hit home run against Le Moyne…started 50 of 52 games in right field…started 46 games as the No. 2 hitter in SU’s batting order…had four outfield assists…made four appearances on the mound without allowing a run…pitched two scoreless innings against No. 1 Millersville.
 
2015 (Freshman): Contributed both as an outfielder and a pitcher in his debut season…hit .308 with three doubles and two triples in 117 at-bats…started 17 games in left field and led SU with 21 starts as the designated hitter…stole seven bases in nine tries…posted a .357 on-base percentage…finished the season on a 10-game hitting streak…had seven multi-hit games…drove in three runs in two different games, at Belmont Abbey and vs. Bloomsburg…appeared in nine games as a relief pitcher…pitched a scoreless inning in appearances vs. Lock Haven and vs. IUP.
 
Dover Area High School: Totaled six varsity letters as a baseball and football player for the Eagles, taking to the diamond under head coach Mat Eckenroth…named to the All-State Second Team as a junior and senior…batted .449 as a junior…led his league in strikeouts as a senior pitcher…named a three-time YAIAA First Team All-Star…2014 Shipley Award recipient…was an honor roll student.
 
About Hoover: Full name is Grant Edward Hoover…is the son of George and Norma Hover…majoring in management…has two older brothers, Garrett and Ryan ’15.
