SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University football program has announced its initial list of recruits that have signed on to play for the Red Raiders beginning in the 2016 season.
These players have signed either national letters of intent (NLIs) or institutional letters expressing their desire to play football at Shippensburg under head coach Mark 'Mac' Maciejewski '92/'96M.
"Individually, these recruits bring a lot to the table," head coach Mark 'Mac' Maciejewski said. "Not only am I excited about what they bring as individuals to our family, but as an overall group, I think they can be very special both on and off the field."
The initial group released on National Signing Day (Feb. 3) features 13 individuals, including 12 from the state of Pennsylvania, and has a strong balance of offensive and defensive players.
"This class has good intangibles, and they bring forth a strong work ethic to allow them to achieve their goals," Maciejewski said. "These young men form a talented group and we couldn't be more happy about them committing to our family."
#SigningDay2016 is the first day that the Red Raiders can officially add new players to their team for the 2016 season, allowing the entire coaching staff to see the results of their work over the last several months.
